The importance of being strong and powerful is underlined by the theory of Charles Darwin, who brought to light that in this life’s jungle the fittest survive.
The cost for the survival is paid by the society, the people on whose shoulders the high and the mighty stand on.
In order to maintain their might, the powerful have to stand on shoulders of the weaker peers, not only to be visible far and wide, but also to suppress and prevent the others from taking their position.
Therefore the games of power have stayed the same across ages, but the players and platforms have changed.
The winner is always the person who controls economic power (social substructure) .
The economic power also has various routes to acquisition, but the cost to acquire this power depends hugely on where the acquirer is from. The cost of acquisition of the economic power is for those who come with nothing but will power and intellect. The lowest cost is for those who are already networked and considered “up-there” and amongst the “high and mighty”
For those who want to change the power equation and want to be counted amongst the high and mighty, be prepared to acquire a combination of “power of knowledge” and “acumen to monetise it”. If you can do these two things then your move up-there will be swift. Staying up-there is a totally different matter
Legends and stars. if you have to create and sustain the high and mighty position in one generation and leave it for the posterity then it is about sustaining high degree of out performance at almost every juncture of life (work and personal)
The role of luck. Sometimes legends also do falter. Sometime they are ahead of time. Sometime knowledge is un-monetiseable. However history has proven one thing very clearly the harder you work luckier you get. Persistence and perseverance topped with self belief can help you overcome the lack of luck or initial push backs.
To become high and mighty, to change your destiny and overcome all the obstacles needs power. You will be happy to know that the almighty has bestowed you with it. Everyone has the power. It all depends on you if you are prepared to use it for your “good fight”
